BASIC NOTES on Different of M7 and mM7 Chords (Part 6-3)
Hello long time no see, now I will teach you about M7 and
mM7 chords. First, do you know what is it a M7 or mM7 ?. M7 is abbreviation of Mezzo Dominant. And mM7
we can say Minor mezzo Dominant. They are of them having of each of functions. You
can see table of M7 here:
You can see, the dominant of CM7 chord is B. Why B, because
C Interval ( n – 2 – 1 ½ ) < M7 ( on B). Do you know, M7 character many used
for jazz song.
Example:
Chord Progression of Pop Style : C – Am – F
- G
M7 Style : CM7 – AmM7 –
FmM7 – GM7
M7 Style:
Chord = n + M7
And for table of mM7 you can see here:
